Observer Inc. (hereinafter referred to as ‘Observer’ or the ‘Company’) thoroughly abides by domestic privacy protection regulations, including the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Information and Communications Network Act’) and Personal Information Protection Act, in all stages of Observer services, from service planning to termination.
Observer also provides services in accordance with international standards, including the OECD Privacy Guidelines.

Observer Inc. (hereinafter “Observer”) uses and provides the user’s personal information based on the user’s consent, and actively guarantees the user’s right (the right to control one’s own personal information).
Observer complies with applicable laws, personal information protection regulations and guidelines of the Republic of Korea, which must be obeyed by information communication service providers.
Observer’s Privacy Policy refers to guidelines on protecting the user’s valuable personal information which Observer is required to comply with, in order to ensure that users use its services with confidence.
This Privacy Policy is applied to Observer Services (hereinafter “Observer” or “the Services”).

Collection of Personal Information

Non-members can use most of the services without signing up including weather services and use of Observer’s website.
Observer will collect the minimum amount of personal information necessary for the use of the service. Personalization or membership service such as weather data transmission, compensation, use of Observer store and application.

Use of the Collected Personal Information

Observer uses personal information only for purposes described below, which includes managing subscribers, developing, providing and improving services, and creating a safe internet user environment.

    For membership management such as confirmation of membership intention, identification of user, confirmation of withdrawal of membership.

  • 2.

    New service elements such as demographic analysis, analysis of service visits and usage records, formation of relationships between users based on personal information and interests, and customized services based on acquaintances and interests, in addition to providing existing services (including advertising) And to improve existing services.

Agreement of collection, use, provision of personal information

Observer conducts a procedure to check whether the user agrees to the contents of the personal information processing policy and the Terms of Use when entering the personal information at the time of initial member registration or while using the service, Observer treats as agreed after registration or using Observer Services.

Provision and Entrustment of Personal Information

      If the users have agreed in advance.

      When the Company compensates the users with Cryptocurrencies, points, cyber money, etc.

      When necessary for statistical writing, academic research, or market research, in the form of an unidentifiable individual.

      When it is necessary to confirm identity to prevent theft.

    • 7)

      If there is a request by the investigation agency in accordance with procedures and methods prescribed in the Act for the purposes of investigation or for the purpose of investigation.

      Observer will provide personal information only when the urgent risk to the user's life or safety and to resolve it.

Retention period and destruction of personal information

  • 1.

    If the Company collects the personal information of the member, the retention period is, in principle, until the end of the use contract pursuant to Article 9 of the Terms and Conditions. In case of termination of the use contract, the Company destroys personal information immediately after the user unsubscribes from the service. (However, The Company may keep the record for six months after the termination for the purpose of preventing re-entry during the re-entry grace period)
    In addition, we will retain personal information for each specified period if:

Amendment to the Privacy Policy

The Company may amend its Privacy Policy to reflect any legal or service changes. The Company will notify such amendment seven days in advance by notice.
However, any major change in user rights, including personal information items to be collected and the purpose of collecting thereof, will be notified at least 30 days in advance, may re-collect user’s consent if needed.
